Activity Day for Amputee Players

The Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA are staging a football activity day for amputee players and coaches.
In conjunction with Remploy Sheffield, The Football Association has approached the organisations to carry out a risk assement for amputee footballers playing football, against each other and with able bodied players.
On Saturday 28th July 2007, the Goodwin Centre, part of the University of Sheffield will be open from 10.00am to hold this football analysis and invites all amputee players and coaches who are keen to work and learn more about disability football.
Players from the England Amputee squad will be there on the day to take part in the Sessions and help with the assessment.
The day is free to attend and the Assessment Officials will be observing and evaluating a variety of aspects.
Equipment used by amputee players, focus discusssion groups about hazards and possible control measures currently in place and future recommendations, views on officiating the game and observe a match between amputee players and non disabled players
In addition to the physical playing assesments on he day, Officials will also meet specialist medical staff at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital to get their views and concerns regarding amputee football.
